Terri and Mitch founded ALTAIR Homes in 1977.
Mitch was practically raised in the home construction business. At 11, he was working part-time in his uncle's construction business. Mitch was supervising his own crews by the time he was in high school.
Mitch's early experience with building technology and seeing a house become reality from plans, inspired him to study art and architecture at The University of New Mexico.

ALTAIR Homes created a home with a unique design and feeling of belonging with the natural terrain of our area.

ALTAIR started modestly, building redwood decks and installing hot tubs. Soon the duo were building room additions for existing homes. Terri was there with Mitch experiencing the building process. Terri and Mitch's early work set the foundation for ALTAIR'S success.
Terri and Mitch's concern for the environment inspired them to participate in the development and necessary criteria for the original Green Builder Program in New Mexico. All ALTAIR Homes use environmentally friendly technology and products.
Terri & Mitch Yoakum have actively participated in the Home Builder Association of Central New Mexico.
